The first Bike Fit sessions of 2025

Last weekend we carried out the first bike fitting session of 2025. As always, we helped riders of all levels and disciplines to improve their comfort, performance, mileage and fitness. Our clients come to us from all over the UK, this time as far as Land’s End, Cornwall.

An interesting moment happened when two clients, with appointments that slightly overlapped each other, were coincidentally of the same height; both very tall. One of the two, observing the other’s session wrapping up, asked: “But if we are the same height and you gave us both the same stem length of 130mm, why did you set him up with such an enormous difference: with a 230mm head-tube and a 100mm saddle-bar drop, while I have 190mm head-tube with a 140mm drop?”. It was a great question. It highlights how two people of matching height can have extremely different proportions and need two very different frame designs. The difference in this case lay in the different centre of balance and arm length.

Ultimately though, the real skills of a good bike fitter show up when we see a rider who is already keyed in a perfect position. In this case only a great bike fitter will be brave enough to say: “I don’t want touch anything here, nothing to be done”… instead of changing anything for the sake of it. It happens very rarely, but it does.

We have been running our monthly clinic in East London for the last 15 years. We’re always fully booked and yet, we do not operate with laser beams, no super high-tech smoke & mirrors…. Sometimes for the initial session we don’t even use a computer, only hand tools. Our service is unique and we have a 100% success rate.
